Another Anniversary…

by | Jun 3, 2008 | FSSP, Happy Anniversary, Ordinations, Prayer, Priests, Saint Therese Quotes | 12 comments

My husband has been blessed with ALL three of his brothers being called to serve Our Lord as priests. Only his sister (the oldest in the family) and my husband were called to the married life. It is pretty awesome to have them all for brother-in-laws. They are such great role models for my children. Speaking of children, with three priests out of their five children, my in-laws are not lacking for grandchildren. They have nine so far!

Today is the 2nd Anniversary of the second son in the family’s ordination.

Happy Anniversary Father!!

This brother-in-law’s favorite saint is Saint Thérèse of Lisieux. I couldn’t agree more!!! St. Therese wrote a beautiful prayer for priests. Please say this prayer today for Father! God Bless!

O Jesus, eternal Priest, keep your priests within the shelter of Your Sacred Heart, where none may touch them. Keep unstained their anointed hands, which daily touch Your Sacred Body. Keep unsullied their lips, daily purpled with your Precious Blood. Keep pure and unearthly their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of the priesthood. Let Your holy love surround them and shield them from the world’s contagion. Bless their labors with abundant fruit and may the souls to whom they minister be their joy and consolation here and in heaven their beautiful and everlasting crown. Amen.

That is awesome! Our parish priest is one of three boys, two of whom are priests. He always says though, “Priests are not hatched…they come from families just like yours.” Many prayers:)

That is so awesome! They are all in my prayers. God called all three of them to the priesthood. Did their mom pray for this particular intention?

This is such a blessing, what a gift to these parents to have so many chosen by God to be Alter Christis!

I pray that God would call my sons, His plans are always perfect.

If you email me your address, which I wouldn’t post, I will send you the most beautiful prayer booklet of prayers for Priests, Opus Angelorum. I say them during Holy hours. I think you’d really like them. The St. Therese prayer is in there, along with many others.

From a “stranger.” I’ve been reading your blog for a few months; I found it by clicking on “Catholic” in my own interests section. Hope you don’t mind! Please accept my compliments and know that I am learning quite a bit from reading what you have written, as a mother of four. I finally decided to leave a comment on this entry because I thought I recognized my own Bishop and then when I read the story, I found it to be true. This is our diocese that your brother-in-law was ordained in. I am also a member of St. Teresa (The Little Flower) parish, about a mile from the Cathedral where the ordinations took place. What a small world! Hope you enjoyed our town. God bless you and your family.

Amy, I didn’t have a chance to cry! I’ll tell you about it soon! 🙂

Esther – I don’t believe that their mother prayed for this intention specifically, but I do find it interesting that their father was in the seminary himself, prior to getting married, and it seemed that God wanted three of his sons instead of him!

The Potter Family — So nice to “meet” you! Thank you for commenting! It really IS a small world!! This is our 3rd trip to Lincoln for ordinations! Nebraska is nice, but your storms are CRAZY!! 🙂

Thank you everyone for your prayers!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
