A Mass at the Cemetery

for the Feast of All Souls

Video Stills courtesy of Marc

It was such a beautiful Mass! This was our 3rd annual All Souls Mass at a local cemetery since the Catholic section was “rediscovered” and unburied from the brush and blackberry bushes. Our boys have had the honor of being able to serve at the altar each year. And even though the weather is always bad, by the grace of God, the rain stops just long enough for Mass!

I only took a couple pictures myself which, it appears, was caught on film! I may still post one of two of my favorites, but I was so excited that Marc so graciously agreed to email a me a few video stills to share with you all. Wahoo! Thanks Marc, they’re awesome!

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

I can’t believe I had to miss it again this year. I swear I am putting it on my calendar for next year… I am just afraid what force is keeping me from going… After two years of planning it and then not being able to go, one does start to wonder.
It looked beautiful, I imagine it must be such a moving spiritual experience. Marc’s pictures are gorgeous. I hope he puts up the video for is all to see!

This is wonderful. Though it didn’t happen this year, they usually have a Mass with the seminarians from our diocese at the Crypt of our bishops in one of the cemeteries. It is a neat experience to have that for All Souls. I find it such a moving experience to visit cemeteries.

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
