Do you use PaperBackSwap?

I do, and I LOVE it!! It is absolutely AMAZING… At least for a household of home schooling book lovers like us!

I signed up last Fall, and have been very pleased with the club.

It is absolutely free to sign up, and if you post 10 books (hardcovers too) you automatically receive 2 credits to use right away for FREE!

The books you list go into the system, and if someone requests one of your books, you mail it to them (it usually costs $2.15 approx) and earn another credit.

For each credit you have you can request a book of YOUR CHOICE ABSOLUTELY FREE!! In fact, if the books that you are looking for aren’t in the system, you can even create a wish list and you will be notified when the book is posted!

It is SO cool! I have been very happy with all the books I have received. So far, they have all been in like new condition. For Christmas I got hubby a book off his wish list, a cookbook for myself, and the kids a few Catholic Mosaic titles. It has saved me so much money so far!

In fact, here is the book I received today:

Can you believe it? An out of print copy of the Christmas Mosaic book, The Trees Kneel at Christmas! Yeah!!! Not only that, it is in like new condition, and this book is listed for over $26 on Amazon for this condition. It really is worth it to create that account and place some books on that wish list!

Anyways, the following link is coded so that if you use it to sign up, I will get a bonus credit on my account. Although, I would be telling you about this club even if that wasn’t the case… I am that pleased with it!

My problem is I don’t think I could give up any books I already have… I kind of have a problem I like to hoard books!!

I agree with Jaime. Do you think people will just send us books for the fun of it?? 🙂

I didn’t think I would be able to either. But I have a lot of “twaddle” that my children have been given or that has been picked up at library sales/thrift stores that I would love to replace with actual “living books!” I also have quite a few readers from college that I have been decluttering. I only have about 10 on my shelf to “give away” but I keep trying to think of others since I am just LOVING the books we are receiving. Great swaps in my opinion! 🙂

I like the idea also. I am just like Jamie – my childrens books remind me of when I sit and read to them. Everytime I pick one up- it brings back memories – I will probably hold onto my books until grandbabies come!!

This is a great idea! Thanks for sharing it with us, I have never heard of it. I don’t have much of a book collection cause we usually just go to the library to save money. But, the great thing is I am always finding great books at garage sales. Books that I may not want or need to read, but that are popular. So I just might sign up and go garage sale shopping for books. 😉

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
