A couple weeks ago I posted a link to a couple quizzes that help determine ones temperament, in anticipation of a coming sermon on Audio Sancto.
The sermon was posted this week and I found it very helpful and interesting! If you have a few minutes, I highly recommend checking it out!
Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

I found this very interesting! The “predominant faults” he assigns to (what must be) my temperament really aren’t new to me (or to anyone who has to spend any length of time with me!!), but I really liked hearing them couched (with lots of soft pillows around them) within a list of strengths and weaknesses, and helpful spiritual practices.

What a wonderful sermon! I so enjoy Fr. XXXX’s teaching…always so on target. As a 91% choleric/9% sanguine, I truly appreciate the exhortations against pride and anger. I’ve struggled for years with these faults, and find the reminders on how best to defeat them (prayer and mortification) to be most helpful.
