Having Fun with the Alphabet

by | Sep 12, 2008 | Little Saints Preschool | 5 comments

This week, our Little Saints theme was Alphabet Fun. It was a very fun week and a great kickoff for our journey along the alphabet path starting next week.

Here is a glimpse at a few of the things we did:

We read:

The girls (and in some cases the boys!) played lots of games and made crafts relating to the alphabet including:

Alphabet Cereal Match

Pudding Play
(Writing letters in pudding!)

Alphabet Puzzles

“On the Coconut Tree”

This is proving to be a very challenging year, educating 4 young children at home, with a (soon to be) toddler in the midst. But, as my dear friend Trina suggested, I keep repeating to myself, “I LOVE this! I LOVE this! I LOVE this!!” 😉 And you know what, it IS a lot of work keeping up with it all, but I DO love it! Homeschooling can be so much FUN!

It’s so fun to see the same things on your blog, only different! (if you know what I mean) We got those Alpha Bits and they played with them (it’s missing a lot of letters we needed for names!) But the kids don’t like it!! So we have a whole box of sugar cereal that no one likes!!

    Kind of funny!
I’ll have to post a picture of our craft wall, you’ll recognize the same but different crafts!

    Blessings!!
I’m off to post our Holy Name of Mary day!

I know what you mean about the Alpha Bits… We were missing quite a few letters too, so instead of writing their names, I had the girls make pairs of letters. Rascal joined in and worked on making words… He was very creative and would make the letters he needed by modifying the ones he had! It was cute!

I would love to see a picture of your craft wall!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
