On the 5th day of Christmas…

by | Dec 30, 2008 | Advent and Christmas, Lap Books | 7 comments

… Twinkle Toes gave to me,

Five empty glue sticks from her 12 days of Christmas Lap Book.

(I am pretty sure that most of them were partially used already, but still! We haven’t even finished it yet!!)

And just so you all know, my hubby is off all week and we have all sorts of things planned, so my blogging will probably be pretty sporadic. We’ll have to see. =)

Hope you are all enjoying your 12 days of Christmas!!

Can I ask where you get your colored lap books from? I have the regular old file folders that we fold in half. I had a lapbook for Advent that we had wanted to do, but couldn’t find purple, and the plain one just didn’t look as good. 🙁 Can’t wait to see the finished project!

Love how intent T.T. is to finish her project. AND… )if I remember correctly, weren’t the glue sticks almost gone when we were making St. Lucia Crowns???) Poor girl gets the blame…lol
    Blessings~

Jen ~ I had a really hard time finding purple folders as well! I finally was able to find a pack of 100 from Staples which included: Yellow, Blue, Red, Purple and Brown for about $15.00. It looked like they also carried a smaller pack of Purple, but it was sold out. I am so excited to have all these colors to work with now. (Though they are no where near as cheap as a 100 pack of plain ones from Costco… Oh well!)

Marci ~ Your right!! I realized last night when I went to find more gluesticks (after all 8 in the basket were finished off) that we were using the Little Flowers ones. Whew!! I couldn’t believe that it would take THAT much glue. I need to remember to get some more before our next LF meeting! 🙂

Regan ~ THANK YOU so very much!!! And it is a perfect award for me! I think I have at least 3 awards that I have still not gotten around to posting, which I received months ago. Now, off to find a piece of chocolate 😉

Glue sticks either go missing or dry out on me… I don’t think I have ever been lucky enough to actually use up a whole stick, lol

I've been looking around for a GOOD CATHOLIC blog to read… one about motherhood, homeschooling, and incorporating faith into everyday life. Looks like you have pretty much what I was looking for… I'm not too computer savy, so I don't have a blog.

Hope you don't mind if I lurk and post from time to time.

I am a RCIA Catholic (1998), SAHM to 5 blessings (3 on earth~ 7, 5, & 3 ~ and 2 in heaven). I live in a small town and the only homeschooling moms in this area are all non-Catholic… (the closest Catholic K-12 school is 30 miles away) so I am so excited to find this site and some of the moms posting!!!

I can't wait to read more and see how I, too, can balance all of the aspects of life… faith, spouse, children, homeschooling, cleaning, and maintaining my sanity all the while!

    Happy New Year!
    🙂 Angel

Holy cow. Holy glue? We’ve got a glue stick enthusiast in our house, too!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
