Wordless Wednesday ~ Daddy training his “Altar Boys”

Okay… So this post isn’t going to be totally wordless. 😉 I had a chance to get online real quick, and wanted to add that Captain got to serve (along with a whole bunch of other boys!) his very first Tridentine Mass on Sunday. He LOVED it!! I think that my hubby got a few pictures which I will try to share sometime soon…

Unfortunately, I missed seeing him serve, since I had to stay at the hotel with a sick baby. The flu has hit our family. At first I thought it was just the heat, but now I am sure that it is the flu. Let me just say, I have never experienced anything quite like this… Have you ever tried to travel across multiple states in a minivan while 3 children are extremely sick with the flu (both ends!), the baby is recovering–sort of–but his diapers don’t seem to work AT ALL, while sick with the flu yourself?!

At least it has provided many opportunities to grow in patience and practice various Works of Mercy, but at this point, I would appreciate any prayers you could send our way!

Thank you SO MUCH and God Bless!

    Jessica,
I pray that you all feel well soon! Great photos! Now, I understand why your husband has three brothers who are priests.

Our family is also recovering from only the bottom end of the flu.

I will pray for you today and that sweet baby.

How horrible! Several of us had influenza right after Christmas this year and it was the most horrible thing. I can’t even imagine doing it in a minivan crosscountry! Hoping you all feel well soon.

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
