Last Thursday I hosted our Little Flowers Girl’s Club meeting on St. Catherine Laboure, and the virtue of Humility.
Since the weather has been so nice lately, and since I thought it would be nice to give the girls an opportunity to have some play time in addition to our meeting, I hosted the meeting at my home earlier in the day. (Our meetings are generally at night.)
The themes for this meeting were: St. Catherine Laboure, the virtue of Humility, and the Violet. Here is an overview from our meeting:
Once all the girls arrived (I told them to come anytime between 2:00-4:00 to play before our meeting) we began our meeting with the prayer to St. Therese and the Acts of Faith, Hope, and Love. We then continued with a review of the virtue and saint we learned about at our
last meeting.
I could NOT find a coloring page for either St. Catherine Laboure, or of the Miraculous Medal, other than a few that did not allow reproduction in a couple coloring books I own… So, instead, I let the girls color a couple pictures for Palm Sunday and Easter from
Fenestrae Fidei: A Coloring Companion for Catholic Mosaic.

Next I introduced the virtue we will be working on, Humility, and read a short biography of the saint for this month, St. Catherine Laboure. I was horribly unprepared for this meeting, probably since it had only been a week since our last meeting… However, since a couple of the girls visited the shine of St. Catherine last Fall, they brought pictures to show and told the rest of girls more about this amazing (and incorrupt) saint. The other moms came to my rescue explaining the virtue of humility to the girls… Virtues can be HARD to explain to children!!

Here is my sample page for the girls. I included the memory verse and for Humility, a short quote from the
Craft Companion, and the prayer to St. Catherine. It was pretty simple, just like last month, but I still thought it looked nice.
The girls actually put their pages together pretty quickly… Either they were anxious to get back to playing, or they are getting use to doing these each month!
As usual, the girls did a beautiful job. Here are some of the completed pages:
Snack time was next. Erica had snacks for this meeting. The snacks were AWESOME!!
The girls all *loved* them. And you know, they tasted even better than they looked!!My mouth still waters every time I see a picture of those yummy treats!
Before the girls left, they all piled on the couch for a group photo.
Before our next meeting (in addition to working on the assignments), I plan on reading and/or coloring some of the following with my girls:
Saint Catherine Laboure, pray for us and help us to seek humility!
Saint Therese, the Little Flower, pray for us!
Prayer of Mothers
Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

I am a homeschooling Mum of three little girls in Australia and I have been leading a 'Little Flowers.' group for 15 girls.
