How lovely! What a blessing to have an outdoor Mass said at the cemetery. We went yesterday as a family to our local cemetery and prayed for the poor souls.

May I ask where you got your girls head-coverings? They are precious and I like how they tie under the chin so that they stay on better.

Thank you for sharing. God bless!

Thank you Kelly! We are really blessed to have this retired priest in our area. Four years ago he started offering Mass at this historic cemetery, at an altar found in the Catholic section! Our boys have been able to serve each year!

I purchased the girls veils from Modesty Veils a few years ago, and it really is so nice to have the tie. They never fall off that way. =)

Thanks for the link to the chapel veils… I also think it is neat that they tie under the chin! My brother bought one for my four yr old, but it looks like a little round doily and I suppose I would have to pin it in her hair… He also bought one for me, but we have not worn them yet… nobody else at our parish does, so I am not sure about it. Do others in your parish also wear chapel veils? I really like the idea, but I wonder how to get over my self-consciousness… and I usually don't care about feeling self-conscious at all, oddly!

Amy ~ One of these years it will work out! =) Hope you are feeling better!

Erin ~ When I started wearing veils a few years ago, there were only a couple other older women in the parish wearing them. Now, there are a couple more, but not many! It was very hard for me at first, but a wonderful sacrifice to offer up since I knew God was asking me to start wearing one… It does make it easier now that my girls wear them too! 😉 And you know, now, when I forget my veil at home, I really feel like I am missing something. =)

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
