   Morning, hope your doing better. I'm pregnant with our 4th child and every pregnancy I've had "morning sicknes", all day and night for the entire, (first trimester) 3-4 months. Thank God for the strength. I would like to know if you can help me out a bit with homeschooliung questions. I live in Oceanside,CA. I have a 4 year old, 3 yr old, a 19mnth old and am 29wks pregnant! Where and when do I start? There is so much information. Also do you know of any good books on Saints? Something that I could read everyday. Thanks Lucy

    Lucy ~ Congratulations on your new little one on the way! I have had first trimesters like that… they are so hard, but rewarding in the end!! As for homeschooling, there is SO much out there to choose from it can be SO overwhelming for all of us! I would just suggest to try and keep it simple (since you will have 4 little ones, 4 and under) and just READ LOTS of books together. I really think that is the best thing you can do. Also, have you seen Elizabeth Foss's Along the Alphabet plans? I really wish I would have had these when I was first starting out…

    Her book, Real Learning, is wonderful too!

    As for a daily Saint Book, we read a short story of the Saint of the day from Saints for Young Readers for Every Day of the Year. Our version is out of print, but Pauline Books has republished a revised edition. I posted a bit about it here: In Honor of the Saints

    Oh Jessica! These are just so cute! I have been planning for some time to get that castle for {L} for her birthday! And it is next month! Yikes! I better get on the ball, huh?
    Anyway, I love your saint dolls. They are so fabulous. And I adore that your kids play mass.

    Jessica, I have a question, (I tried asking Elizabeth Foss on her blog, but not sure if the comment went through or if I subscribed to the feed right, as nothing happened!)

    I was thinking about Along the Alphabet Path for Kindergarten, since my Kindergarter will be newly 5 (sept 2) and include my 3 year old as well. Do you think this would be a good curriculum for Pre and K?

    Jamie ~ I would think so Jamie. I had hoped to follow it with my girls last year and we started out well, but with everything I had to do with my boys I found that just adding some Little Saints along with what we "normally" do was all I could handle at that point. If I was you, I would talk to Tracy about it, since you know her and since she has completed the whole Alphabet Path with her children.

    Oh my! I could not see all of the precious photos when using my google reader on my cell phone while I was out and about. With our snail slow (read – painfully slow!) internet, it's been difficult to get online to actually "surf" these days. I've been blogging by uploading after typing using my Word program too, so ack, hope it all gets better.

    I just wanted to come to you today to let you know how incredible this post is! Our two younger children have become spellbound with all your sweet wooden saints and now "princesses"! I had ordered some wooden pegs myself a while ago to get moving on supplying our children for their own creations, and voila, I ordered the wrong sized ones. Can you tell me which size yours are? What a silly error on my part! Now what to do with all these "littles"? Question? Would you like to have a few to make some "babies"? I would happily send you some. 🙂 Blessings to you!

    Renee ~ Ours are about 2 1/2" tall. You must have purchased the small wooden folk? (Just over 1 1/2"?) I do have a bag of those, and used one to paint a child Mary to go with St. Anne. I am sure you should be able to find uses for them?! Though if you still have too many, I wouldn't turn them down. 😉

    I was a little disappointed with my last order from "A Child's Dream" since the dolls I ordered are not exactly the same as my first order. The heads are slightly flatter on top and not round like before. And now I have a TON of those! =) Once their hair is painted on it doesn't look so bad – they are just a little different than I had gotten use to…

    I also thought I was purchasing taller "girls" but they were actually quite small. Thankfully, I've found uses for them (the little princesses — plus I've painted 8 little Carmelites to go with a convent if I ever have a chance to paint it!).

    It is so awesome to see how creative your children are being with their saint dolls. We just finished St. Lucy today and are having a great time with them so far. Do you have a good idea for how to store/display these sweet little dolls? I hate to stick them in a box because they're so nice to see, but I hate to lose them too if they're out all the time!

    Cheryl ~ They were a gift from one of my husband's brothers… I am pretty sure they are antiques…

    Theresa ~ Right now I just have them on a shelf in our school room, but I've been trying to think of a better way to display them. If I come up with something I'll be sure to post about it. =)
