11 1/2 Months

by | Nov 30, 2010 | Baby "Rose" | 9 comments

Our little Rose has been walking for awhile, but she just recently decided that she now prefers walking over crawling and is getting around quite well.  I still can’t believe that she will be turning one in just a couple weeks…

Apparently she prefers the basket to all those carefully selected books! 😉

She is simply gorgeous and adorable!! How is her weight doing? I think I remember you mentioning she was on the tiny side. She looks great, but I have learned from experience not to let sweet chubby baby cheeks fool you.

Thank you! Yes, she is still tiny! At her last weight check a couple weeks ago she was still under 17 pounds. She is SO active though that it really doesn't surprise me. 🙂

She will be seeing her doctor on Friday afternoon and at that time we will decide whether to order another echocardiogram now, or wait until March. If she ends up needing the operation as they are predicting, they will do it after an echo in March. If, for some reason, there is no sound indicating that she might still have the PDA we might order an echo for this month (aka: this calendar year insurance deductible!) in hopes that her heart is all healed and that will be the end of it. If you could keep this in your prayers this week, we'd appreciate it!!

Oh My, Jessica…she is just so darn cute my daughter and I just want to scoop her up and cuddle her!!! I can hardly believe she is growing up so fast, won't be long and and she will be completely out of the baby stage! My 15 year old daughter was very petite for the first years of her life, she is still not tall, but about 5'2 and active and healthy. I Think she weighed in at about 17-18 lbs at about a year.

Praying for good health and a successful surgery if needed. It is always a bit scary when those things need to be done! Please add my 10 year old to you prayers, after Christmas he is going into the hospital for a Bone Marrow Transplant to "hopefully" be cured of his Thalassemia Major. We will be away from home for over 3 months! I am not looking forward to it, but it will be a good Lenten Penance.

She's growing so fast! Such a good little walker too 🙂 We'll be praying that she doesn't need the surgery.

Jessica I will definitely be praying for your little Rose. We just went through surgery and a rocky recovery with our 1 year old. She is 16M now and just hit 17lbs.

Cute, cute, cute! Little Rose is getting around, alright! I hope Maria waits a little while to start walking. She mastered crawling a month ago and is getting pretty quick; it's hard to keep up with keeping things out of her mouth! The nice thing about Maria–#5–crawling around all over the place is that I've got four other kids to rescue her and remove undesirable items from her mouth. I can't believe it was nearly a year ago that Rose was born! Time does fly. It seems so cliche to say over and over, but being a mother makes me realize every day that time DOES fly!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure.
