    SO SWEET!

    Okay…
1~Is that your new rug by the tree? If so, mine is almost, if not, identical but a red version.

2~ Chiquita is looking SO grown up these days. Her face is losing those full baby cheeks…she's such a beauty.

3~ I could just eat that Snuggles up!

Emma ~ Thank you again! All my children enjoyed the gifts so very much! I too can not believe the Rose will be one this week. It has gone by way too fast.

Aimee ~ Yes! That is our new rug! I love it! 🙂

W O W. You're girls look fantastic! Just so beautiful! And your crowns…AMAZING! Are those the ones your dad was going to do? I think I remember you mentioning something about it. The crowns deserve a post of their own, lol! 😉

Snuggles is SO precious with his sleepy little eyes. Melts my heart.

Such a blessed feast day! Your children will have such great memories. True confession time…we didn't do anything other then read our one book. I had a migraine for the past few days and just wasn't up for much more. There's always next year, right?

Thanks for sharing this with us, Jessica. God bless your family.

Oh, goodness! *blush* my grammar is terrible. That should read "Your girls look fantastic."

I wish we could go back and edit our comments. 😛

Kelly ~ I feel the same way about comments! Where, oh where, is that edit comment button. 🙂 I also wish blogger offered the ability to comment on particular comments as well, like Word Press. Oh well, maybe someday!

This is an extra special feast, one we make sure to celebrate each year (at least for the last 4 years) since it is my 5 year olds "middle name day" (as she proudly tells everyone! It truly is a great tradition, and all my children look forward to it each year.

Each year it has been a little different, but this year my girls made sure I knew to wake them up before their Daddy left for work so they could wake him up! It was so cute! They woke him up (and the boys who had heard the commotion of the girls getting ready and headed back to my room too to see the fun! – we would have gone to their room next, but they didn't want to miss "waking up" daddy!)

As for the crowns, last year we received an amazing St. Lucia/Christmas Gift from my friend Emma in Norway. She wanted my children to have the same authentic swedish crowns, maiden lights, and starboy hats that her own children have! We had been looking forward all year to using them!! I did purchase one of the crowns (as a gift for Chiquita) from American Swedish Institute last year when I ordered a book, but it also didn't arrive until after the feast last year, so was saved. I would have shared the link, but they don't seem to have it this year.

What a blessing the internet and "blogoverse" can be! It's so amazing how we can all share and celebrate feast days with eachother, even internationally! Very cool and very inspiring.

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
