¡Viva la Virgen de Guadalupe!
I finally pulled out my painting supplies, and spent some time most of the afternoon/evening yesterday painting Our Lady of Guadalupe Dolls! I had wanted to paint a larger 3 1/2″ doll to give to our little Rose, along with the 3 1/2″ St. Therese I painted awhile back, as a birthday gift this coming Wednesday. While I was at it I decided to paint a few extras including a smaller 2 3/8″ doll to add to our ever growing collection! 🙂 The two on the left are the two I have decided to keep, and I am not yet sure what I am going to do with the other three…
Since tomorrow if also Gaudete Sunday, we will be heading to Mass and lighting the Rose Colored Candle on our Advent Wreath! I am considering putting together a last minute Our Lady of Guadalupe Tea for tomorrow afternoon but, seeing as how I completely forgot about it and I have too many other things to get ready for this coming week, I am not sure that it is going to happen. I may just make Shredded Beef Burritos (using the crock-pot while we head to town to see a Christmas Display) and then serve some Rose Cupcakes with Roses from Heaven Punch (tying in both Our Lady of Guadalupe and Rose Sunday) while we all decorate our Christmas Tree and then settle down to unwrap and read The Story of Our Lady of Guadalupe Empress of the Americas and The Lady of Guadalupe by Tomie dePaola.
Though it hasn’t shipped yet, I did pre-order the Our Lady of Guadalupe Pop-Up Book by Francisco Serrano which is being re-released this month! I am really looking forward to sharing it with my children. I also can’t wait to start putting together the beautiful Our Lady of Guadalupe Jigsaw Puzzle.
I hope you all have a very Blessed Gaudete Sunday
and Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe!
Our Lady of Guadalupe, mystical rose, intercede for the Church, protect the Holy Father, help all who invoke you in their necessities. Since you are the ever Virgin Mary and Mother of the true God, obtain for us from your most holy Son the Grace of a firm faith and sure hope amid the bitterness of life, as well as an ardent love and the precious gift of final perseverance. Amen.

Prayer of Mothers
Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.
Those are AMAZING!!! I'd be glad to take one off your hands if you can't figure out what to do with them ;).
I'm inspired now, though! I might pull out my painting stuff again if I can finish up the 50,000 other things I need to do before Christmas.
And I'm going to make rosy cupcakes, I think. We have Little Flowers this afternoon, so I've got a St. Lucia bread in the bowl rising. The cupcakes would be a great addition!
Those little wooden dolls look great. I have to make some…someday.
Your little dolls are beautiful, Jessica! Thank you for the inspiration. Love the idea of an Our Layd of Guadalupe tea. Enjoy your day, thanks for joining in the O+L+G Link Up and ¡Viva la Virgen de Guadalupe!
Wow Jessica! The painted dolls are just beautiful! What a fantastic job!

Oh. My. Goodness! Love them, Jessica! Our Lady must be very please. Thank so much for sharing all that you do and being such an inspiration. I'm going to try my hand at making her soon, though I know she won't be as lovely as yours.
