After 59 Days…

…of living without an oven

We moved in the new fridge just before Hubby left, and my dad & brother (Thank you both SO much!) installed and wired the oven today, even though the rest of the kitchen won’t be finished for at least a couple weeks.  Oh, it is getting even more exciting!
… What should we bake first?!?

    Oh how exciting Jessica !
I would start with any thing with cinnamon ,nothing says homemade like brown sugar and cinnamon !
And also the since the Bible says Mary is like sweet spices.
Have a blessed weekend in your new kitchen !

Oh, it's so pretty! You must be so excited!!! I've always wanted a double oven like this. I seem to remember a cake for St. Augustine's feast day… (Charlotte's, I think) 🙂

What a wonderful oven! I would also suggest bread as the perfect "welcoming" dish for the oven!

Yay! Our oven was broken for most of the winter, so I know how hard it is! If you were me, you'd brake it in baking some beads. But I'm not much of a cook. And I burn my beads quite often. lol!

We just put in a new double oven with convection. The first thing I would suggest would be to make and bake the most inexpensive cookies and bake them according to directions. This way you can make sure your oven is working correctly and is the right temperature too. The next thing I did was make bread!!!! I also tried convection and regular bake for everything – I love convection!!! Enjoy!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
