A Christmas Rose Birthday Cake

by | Dec 15, 2011 | Cake Decorating, Happy Birthday, Precious Moments: 06 | 15 comments

After seeing the Rose Cake Tutorial at I am Baker, I knew I had to try and make this cake.   I didn’t do the fun vertical layer interior (our cake is just chocolate) but the rose exterior was so much fun!   This was my first attempt ever at making Roses with a 1M frosting tip and plastic bag… I couldn’t believe how easy they were to make!  Didn’t it turn out pretty?!
I still can’t believe that our sweet little “Christmas Rose” is already 2 years old…
I’ll be back later with a pictures from our birthday celebration
Happy Birthday Rose!

Jamie, I was truly amazed at how easy it was to make. The roses really aren't that hard at all!

We will see how it tastes this evening. The birthday girl is just waking up! 🙂

Okay- are you REALLY 9 months pregnant??? Because you, my dear, are still DOING THINGS. Way too many things!!! Shouldn't you be, I don't know…. laying around on the couch… or something?

    You amaze me. 🙂

Well… My midwife did say at my appointment this week that she didn't need to tell me to "take it easy" this time! 🙂 It is definitely hard to get around, but if I want to have this baby before she leaves (aka: tomorrow) I better stay busy! 😉 Though I am starting to think that this little guy might just stay put for awhile longer….

Babies have their own schedule, don't they? 🙂 The cake is beautiful, as is the picture of Rose. I'm sure she'll love her cake!

happy birthday to your little Rose! She is so darn cute 🙂

Did you think of a blog name for this little baby boy on his way? My mom had a baby boy on Dec. 22…came home in a Christmas stocking on Christmas Eve! Our best Christmas ever 🙂 My mom still refers to this 35 year old man as her "jingle baby". Just a thought 🙂

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
