After a super fun weekend of camping (Thursday-Monday, though I headed home with a few of the little ones late Sunday night… It’s HARD to camp pregnant!), I wasn’t sure I’d be ready to start school today… The summer flew by way too quickly for us, but with another baby on the way it is time to get busy. Thankfully all that planning I did way back in July really helped today go smoothly, and we are off to a great start!
Just like last year, the kids all woke up to find Schultütes filled with snacks and school supplies, with the added addition of a cute “Patron of Students Treat” tied to the top. Before I would let them open them though, I took a few pictures and we headed down to the local coffee drive through to get myself a “Back-to-School Treat” as well! 😉
The kids are all so excited to get started on their new school books for this year, and hopefully the excitement won’t wear off any time soon!
Blessed Mother, as you so humbly and graciously accepted God’s will to bear and raise His only son, and to guide him in wisdom and virtue, help me in the instruction and education of my children. Pray to your Heavenly Son to grant me the grace and strength to assist in their learning, overcoming tiredness and discouragement. Assist me in the management of my home, so that I may be able to keep order and peace, despite the challenges of schooling within it. Intercede for me, imploring Our Heavenly Father to bestow upon me wisdom, not for my own sake, but so that I may form my children’s minds and hearts, so that they may grow into strong adults, helping to shape the world for His glory, and ultimately inheriting the kingdom of heaven. Call upon your heavenly angels to stand by my side, with their great intelligence, to help me understand that which I am instructing, and assist my children in learning of same. We humbly ask this through you beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
What a wonderful first day for everyone! Great idea getting yourself a treat as well! 🙂 I'll have to remember that myself next year.
Rose is getting SO big! God bless your new school year!
Oh, camping when pregnant IS hard, indeed! 🙂 But worth it.
I'm so impressed that your kids all look so adorable on the first day. I considered first-day pictures but then realized half of us were still in pajamas. 🙂
Beautiful prayers! Where, may I ask, did you obtain them?
Thank you!
Aren't they perfect? I ran across them on an online "Catholic Prayerbook" website when searching for prayers for Homeschooling.
The smiles are contagious……God bless everyone for the coming school year and all through.
I love reading your blog! Thanks for sharing so much encouragement!!
I first saw an "ad" to St.Annes pixies on your blog (I think!), so I thought you would enjoy this etsy shop: OrdinaryLovely.etsy.com (it is not my shop). Beautiful handmade dolls to teach the faith to little ones. Enjoy!
Your family is beautiful! Good luck this year!!! I recently found your blog and I have been visiting almost daily! Thank you for taking the time to write it…I am just starting my homeschool adventure this year, and reading all of your posts really gives me motivation! 🙂
love the gift ideas and do you find the teaching textbook workbook useful…we use teaching textbooks, but my son just does problems he needs to work out on loose sheets of paper…
That's what my boys did last year, but this year I decided to use the workbooks as well. I like that they don't need to be at the computer to work on their lesson (since we now have three of them sharing the computer) and I also like that I can easily see any errors they are making, without having to look up each missed problem (if any) on the computer. The work books seem to make it just a little bit more convenient for me. We love Teaching Textbooks!
