My children all love playing the Guess Who? Board Game. So, last night, after running across a new blog named Arma Dei: Equipping Catholic Families and seeing Monica’s post on converting her family’s Guess Who game, I knew I had to do the same for our family! (Thank you Monica for the inspiration and for sharing your idea!!)
I have an
older version of Guess Who, and not
this version that was used in the link above, so I had to create my own templates. It wasn’t that hard to do, plus I was then able to customize it with our own Patron Saints.
I guess I could have used colored scrapbooking cardstock that is white on one side, but I wanted to stick with supplies I already had at home… So, I printed
my template onto white paper and then glued it onto red and blue cardstock before cutting along the lines to create the individual cards to insert into the slots on our game.
It didn’t take long to slip all the pictures into their slots.
I then printed out a
larger version of each picture and glued it onto yellow card stock to create the deck of cards to use for choosing your saint. I cut them into 2 1/4″ by 1 1/2″ rectangles and then it was finished.
Just as soon as my children saw their “new” game they wanted to play!
“Are you a man. . . Are you a woman. . . Are you an angel?”
“Are you an apostle. . . Are you a nun. . . Are you a priest?”
“Are you holding Baby Jesus. . . Are you a martyr. . . Are you missionary?”
“Is a member of the Holy Family in the picture?”
The options for questions are endless!
P.S. Tomorrow is the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. I have a box of Cocoa Pebbles in the cupboard so we can build a Grotto for Our Lady and some blue Jello to make “Springs at the Grotto” for dessert! You can find my compilation posts of all sorts of Ideas for Celebrating the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes in the archives.
Prayer of Mothers
Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.
Thank you, Jessica! I know what I am doing after my morning devotions and before the children wake up tomorrow morning. We have the older version, too. Thank you for providing the template.
WOW! What a fun idea! Thanks so much for the template! We have the same version as you!
fabuolous. thanks for doing this. what a cute idea. I'll have to visit this blog.
This is the coolest idea – I love it!!! Too bad I don't have anyone to use it on. But I'll remember it!
What a great way to make an old game new again! It sure looks fun.
I just love that last picture with Snuggles holding onto his big toes. Too cute!

That's fantastic, Jessica! Thanks for doing all the hard work for us; I would never have been able to figure out how. We just finished making ours and are ready to play!
I love this! I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for a Guess Who in the thrift store. Then it shall be remade!!
This is so great! Thanks for sharing.:)
Thanks for sharing your Guess Who? template. Monica was kind enough to send me her images for the newer version of the game, but I hadn't had the time to try resizing the images to fit the older version. I just used your templates and transformed our game. My five year old just enjoyed playing several rounds of this game.
I wonder how hard it would be to do this if you own this version of Guess Who. (That is the version we own).
This turned out so cute! When I saw this on Arma Dei, I knew I wanted to try making one! I haven't gotten around to it yet, but we have a really old version from a yard sale, so I'm super glad you shared your template. Thanks! 🙂
That is SO cute! As soon as my son is old enough for it, I am going to try the same thing.
We just did our very first mommy/son Catholic craft in honor of Our Lady of Lourdes:

I just did this today and I'm so excited about it. This is going to be my new gift for all my Catholic friends!
Hi Jessica,
We were wondering if you could tell us how you made your template or what software you used to make it. We wanted to make one of our own using our patron saints. Thank you and God Bless You.
Hi Jessica, Would you mind sharing how we too could make our own GuessWho templates.I would like to include our patron saints!! God Bless
I actually just made ours in Word, using the Publishing Layout. Hope that helps!
Is there a way to download it withut scribed? I can't seem to get the download from there. 🙁
Thanks for a great idea!
Martha, send me your email address and I can forward you the documents. Sorry that Scribd wasn't working for you!
I also can't Scribd. Any way I could get…would love this for my CCD class (K-1st grade).
So sorry for the delay in responding! I've moved both files over to dropbox and have updated the links in this post. Someday I hope to have all my shared files moved over, I just haven't been good about getting it done! God bless!
My mom copied holy cards on her color copier and shrunk them to size and made this for us in the 1990’s. Moms are amazing when inspired by God to lead their little ones to Him.
