The next time you go on a field trip to an Artisan Chocolate Factory, it might be a good idea to turn any backwards signs around BEFORE giving all of your children a sample. . . Oops!

Prayer of Mothers
Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me
Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.

Oh no!
An expensive and fiery oops!
Well, at least the samples were free… Though most definitely fiery, to say the least!
Why would anyone do that to chocolate?! I can imagine the reaction.
wow. my son calss any carbonated beverage "spicy," so I can't imagine what that would do to him. Do you have the Curious George and The Chocolate Factory book, I'm sure you do. It would be so cute with your adventure. What a fun treat.
Eeek!
(but what a fun field trip!)
OH NO!!! That place is great though. Did you get a sample of the chocolate covered bacon? lol
No… I didn't try the chocolate covered bacon. Yuck! Why would anyone want to ruin perfectly good chocolate?? lol!
Robina ~ We actually don't have that book. I will have to check it out from the library. Thank you for the suggestion!
Jessica, I stumbled on your excellent blog and I am thankful that I did. You're inspiring. Do you happen to have a comprehensive list of field trips that you take throughout the year? I have a 5 yr old, 2 yr old and 1 yr old and am looking for interesting educational places to go … thanks!

Steph ~ I really don't have a list of any kind, for field trips. Some of the field trips we take are planned through our homeschool group, some I look into after studying a certain topic, and the rest are unplanned and somewhat coincidental – like our field trips last Friday.
The options probably vary greatly, depending on where you live, but I did a quick google search to see if I could find a list of ideas to get you started. This website has 40 possible places to consider, and here is a link to find Factory Tours in the USA. I hope that helps!
