Preparing for Mass
It was a real blessing for Captain to serve Mass for his Godfather, especially since it may be his last trip to visit us before he enters a cloistered monastery in March! Please keep Father in your prayers.

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.
Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.

Thank you, Lena! Father had just found out that his request had been approved by his superiors and the monastery, and told us the Monday before the baptism. We were so thankful that he was able to come out, even though it was a very quick 30 hour visit packed with sacraments! It looks like we may have another "Ordination Trip" to make after all, when it is time for him to make his solemn vows. We are so happy for him, but it was still so hard to say goodbye, and the day ended with lots of tears, when he had to leave following the reception.
Isn't it cute! That picture was taken by our friend Marc. I always love the candid shots that he captures.
Oh, just beautiful pictures! What an incredible blessing to have a family member who is a priest… Father will be added to our prayer intentions! God bless, Annita +JMJ+
I'm not very knowledgeable about the difference between monks, brothers, etc., but I do know that monks and brothers belong to a particular order. Does this mean that Father is leaving the FSSP to join a monastic order? –Danielle
Yes, he is entering a traditional monastic order, one that also prays the Latin Mass. My other two brother-in-laws will still be with the FSSP, so thankfully we will still have someone to come out for any future baptisms, God willing! 🙂
Thanks! I'm going to be in the city where his parish is on a weekend this February. (It's 2 hrs away, but it's the TLM closest to me. You get the credit for getting me interested in attending the TLM!) If I am able to attend Mass again there then, hopefully he'll be saying that Mass and I'll wish him well. –Danielle
Your two girls look like a couple of snow queens!
What's a TLM ? I'm not catholic 🙂
TLM is short for the Traditional Latin Mass.
Thank you.Living where I do you really don't know much about catholic church.I am glad I found your blog- I've learned so much. You have a beautiful family. Thanks again.
