I took quite a few pictures yesterday, but it’s probably going to take me a little while to sort through them and put a post together on Rascal’s Hobbit themed birthday party… In the meantime, here are a few pictures I took with my phone to post on Instagram and Facebook.

And the kids thought the “brace o’ coneys” tasted just like the beef in our freezer! 😉

Regardless of whether it was made with coneys, mutton, or beef, the stew was real good!

I’ll try and post more pictures from our party soon! It was so much fun! I made way too much food, so the kids my little hobbits have been enjoying the leftovers today for 1st Breakfast, 2nd Breakfast, Elevenses, Luncheon, and they will be having more of the scones with their Afternoon Tea while they play Rascal’s new Hobbit Game. Since it’s Friday we’ll save the leftover Hobbit Stew and Tater Casserole for Dinner and Supper tomorrow!

So is it actually coffee he got, or hot chocolate or something of that variety? I ask because I noticed some homeschool boys of a similar age who began drinking coffee at our parish coffee and donuts after Mass, and now I am wondering if it is a Catholic homeschooled pre-teen boy thing, ha ha!

Here is the link to the recipe over at Catholic Cuisine for our Irish Beef and Guinness Stew. I followed the recipe as usual, but added a couple potatoes chopped up with the carrots.
Oh funny, about the other boys. After Mass my boys (all the kids) have juice, water or cocoa.
My boys don't drink coffee, other than a sip here and there of my coffee drinks, and they usually get a fruit smoothie from DB on their birthdays, but since Hobbits love coffee, I decided to allow him to get it this one time. He ordered my favorite (An Annihilator – Breve with Chocolate Macadamia flavor) and he got the 20 oz (large) DECAF with just half the usual espresso.
