Prayer of Mothers
Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me
Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.

OH. MY. GOODNESS! "My Wheely Bug Skills" is cracking me up right now! I can't stop smiling looking at that picture and reading his responses! They are all delightful, Jessica!
These are beautiful! I'm sure you've mentioned this before, but what program do you use to create these on your computer?
Thanks and God bless you!
JennyM
These were actually created using Picmonkey, an online Photo Editing Website! (I don't pay to use all the features, these were made using the free options on the site.) Just upload your photo using the "Edit a photo" option and you can add text, etc! It is lots of fun! 🙂
I use picmonkey all the time and love it!
This is such a great idea, I loved reading all the interview answers! I am excited to do this next year!
These are AWESOME! I'm cranking away on mine right now (two down, four to go if I do the big boys) and am doing mine on Picmonkey too. (I caved & paid for the extra features! Don't tell my husband.)
How do you do those label boxes? I'll probably find it the minute I leave this comment but I really do like those, especially the way they make the text pop.
Thanks, Margaret! I look forward to seeing yours too!
To make the boxes: Click on "Overlays" then choose the "Geometric" shape that you want. (I choose the rectangle with rounded corners.) Resize it to the size that you need and also change the color – both of mine are white. Then slide the "Fade" button over to whatever works best for your photo. It's probably set at around 50-60% on mine. That's it! I do think you have to create the Overlay before you add your text, otherwise the text wants to stay behind the overlay. I wasn't able to figure out how to move around the various layers on PicMonkey.
It really does help the text stand out a little better on some photos! 🙂
What am I saying? I've got FIVE to go if I include the big boys! I cannot for the LIFE of me seem to remember I've got 7 kids! 🙂
So I just looked around at Picmonkey and am thinking you used the "labels" feature? So clever and just what I need for a couple of these shots.
So glad that Captain loved building the Sopwith Camel! 🙂
Someday I will post a picture or two of him building his Sopwith Camel! He has actually built it twice now, since it happened to (accidentally) get sat on by a certain 5 year old. Oops! I guess that is one of the awesome things about Legos! You can't really break them! 🙂
Oh, yay!!! Can't wait to see those pictures! I really want to get that LEGO build – daughter will be doing that unit of history in 4th grade – couple years out…. BUT, I'm gonna get it EARLY! 🙂 I've always been a bit of a "war buff" and the early 20th century is no exception! I've had to rebuild a far share of our LEGO sets, too, with a certain 7 yr old playing with them and they "shatter" all over (they are still advanced for her to build on her own).
Hope to see some Lone Ranger sets soon! 🙂
Just clicked over and purchased! Glad to use your link!
All of your kids love history! Girl, you are doing something RIGHT. 🙂 and now I think I need to make one of these for Posy!
I'm supposin' my little guy needs one too, and his goal will be the same as Bud's: learn to talk! Beautiful work! One of these years I will have to switch to Picmonkey from Picassa to use cooler fonts.
Wonderful, Jessica!! I can't wait to do these with my kids. Hopefully today!
Thank you! I'll check it out. They turned out great!!

Thanks! It is such an awesome Lego set!! You (and your daughter!) will love it!
It's all the super fun History Lap Books and Crafts, enhancing their core texts and reading assignments! 😉
LOVE! How cute!! 😀
I'm brazilian, and since de the first moment I saw your blog I loved your family. You inspired me to be different, to make the difference in my life and in my family. I pray to god to a family like yours. Thank you for everynthing you changed in my life! I pray for you!
I hope you understand, I'm trying to write in english, and I'm not so good.
Yes! For my daughter, too! The "hands-on" learning that we can do as homeschooling families is just awesome!
All you blogging moms ROCK because you provide the rest of us with such GREAT resources – especially for those of us still getting our feet wet!
I love this idea! Wow the cake in your Beautiful Rose's picture is amazing. Did you make it?
Thank you, Annette! Do you mean the cake in Chiquita's picture? Yes, I made it. It is a "Josefina's Primroses in a Pouch" cake! 🙂 I posted a tutorial here: https://showerofrosesblog.com/2013/04/josefina-birthday-cake.html
