Prayer in Times of Epidemics that we prayed after Mass 🙏🏻
At the end of the prayer Father blessed everyone with a relic of the True Cross ❤️

PRAYER IN TIMES OF EPIDEMICS

V. Deal not with us, Lord, according to our sins.

R. And take not vengeance on us because of our misdeeds.

V. Help us, O God, our Deliverer.

R. And for thy name’s sake, O Lord, free us.

V. Remember not, O Lord, our sins of old.

R. Hasten to us with thy compassion, for we are become exceeding poor.

V. St. Sebastian, pray for us.

R. That we may be worthy of the promises of Christ.

V. O Lord, hear my prayer.

R. And let my cry come unto thee.

V. The Lord be with you.

R. And with thy spirit.

Let us pray.

Vouchsafe to hear us, O God, our only salvation! And through the intercession of the glorious and blessed Mary, Mother of God, and ever Virgin, of thy blessed martyr, Sebastian, and of all the saints, deliver thy people from the terrors of thy wrath, and restore their confidence by the outpouring of thy compassion.

Be moved to pity, O Lord, at our earnest entreaties, and heal the illnesses of body and soul; so that experiencing thy forgiveness we may ever rejoice in thy blessing.

We beseech thee, O Lord, grant us a hearing as we devoutly raise our petitions to thee, and graciously turn away this epidemic of plague which afflicts us; so that mortal hearts may recognize that these scourges proceed from thine indignation and cease only when thou art moved to mercy. Through our Lord…

R. Amen.

The priest then blessed the people with a relic of the True Cross, saying:

And may the blessing of Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit descend upon you and remain forever.

R. Amen.

Thank you for posting this prayer. Will your college boys be coming home early this semester?

I wish we would have flown the boys home for spring break (Mar 7-15) after all… The cost was too high and so they decided to go home with a friend who invited them to his home for spring break. Their break was extended another week and the college has said they will let them know by the 18th whether or not to return to campus for classes or if they will continue the semester online… They said not to make travel plans until the 18th, but I just don't see them reopening campus. The boys will need to get back to VA one way or another, since one of them left his passport in his dorm, so I tentatively booked flights home from DC for the 21st. My hope is they can get back to campus early this week (they are opening the dorms to students for a few hours on Monday and Tuesday), pack what they can, and then I can move the flights up to get them home sooner rather than later, if they end up needing to head back home. Please say a prayer for their health and safety and that it all works out!

I will remember your intention in my rosary. I'm driving today to pick up our daughters from Bismark. What a time this is!

J.M.J. THANK YOU Jessica! I have been telling everyone I can we can do all the praying for God's mercy but it will be of no avail unless we have a repentant heart as a nation, as a world! I have not seen or heard one prayer that acknowledges our sinfulness or God's just wrath coming from any of our churches or clerics! I am sending you an email I sent out to others including our bishops! It includes the links to St. Alphonsus Liguori's sermon on God's Mercy. So far it has been well received. We are keeping you all in our prayers! May God bless you and your family during this opportunity of a truly Holy Lent. Especially with safety and good health for everyone. Trusting in Jesus through Mary, Robin

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
