Whatever God Wants

by | Jan 3, 2020 | Archery, Precious Moments: 04 | 8 comments

“It concerns us to know the purposes we seek in life,
for then, like archers aiming at a definite mark,
we shall be more likely to attain what we want.” – Aristotle

“Whatever God wants.” – St. Gianna
The bow was a birthday gift from her Chronicles of Narnia themed birthday a few years ago.
(Oh, wait, it was actually from her Little House Birthday, but pulled back out for Narnia!)

This Christmas her Christkindl (aka older sister) surprised her with a new target…
…and she also received some new arrows from her uncle/Father G!

Wow! I have that St. GIanna quote (lovely water color print from Katrina Harrington) on my counter. It has been my rock in so many tough times. I had no idea that Aristotle said it too, or the rest of Aristotle's quote. Thanks!!

Could I ask where you got the girls' skirts? It's hard to find "non-dressed up" skirts!

I think these are both the Nike skirts which I bought on clearance at Dick's Sporting Goods a few years ago. I got them each a Back and a Heather Grey (Women's size XS). They love them and wear them all the time. Like this: https://amzn.to/2rWMchS and this: https://amzn.to/39Ft4FW

Looks like archery is a fun sport. Your teen daughters are both lovely. They have such pretty long hair. I am sure they are such a big help to you.

'Whatever God wants'. Those are heroic words, the best we can ever say. The pictures of your beautiful daughter perfectly portray the strength, heroic quality and beauty of St. Gianna's quote. Inspirational♥️

Thanks! It's from Catholic T-shirt Club. She received it for Christmas! I'm not seeing it on their website at the moment, but you could always reach out and ask. Let them know you saw it here at Shower of Roses! https://www.catholictshirtclub.com

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
