So hard to believe our baby girl is engaged! 💍✨
On November 23rd she said yes and they will be starting marriage prep with one of her uncles soon. So special, especially since that uncle’s very first baptism over 22 years ago was actually hers!

I almost shared on the Feast of St. Catherine of Alexandria, when I was taking a photo of the girls with our annual heart cakes for her name-day. (It doesn’t look like she’ll make it to 25 and need “encouragement in her search for love” — the old French tradition attached to the feast!) But I stopped myself when I realized she hadn’t shared her news publicly yet.

She’s given me permission now — and she also mentioned her “fiancé” in this year’s gift guide, which some of you noticed! — so now I finally get to share it with you all. Our sweet girl is engaged, and we so happy for the two of them!

Please keep them in your prayers!
… and send me all your best advice on planning a wedding. 😳

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Congratulations! I am so happy for “twinkle toes” and your family! Will keep you all in my Prayers!
So exciting! Congrats. I’d love to hear more about St Catherine and the “search for love” prayers. I have a 17 year old that feels called to marriage but hasn’t met her perfect match yet. Would be nice to give her some prayers in this time of waiting.
I had meant to link to this post from last year: https://showerofrosesblog.com/2024/celebrating-st-catherine-of-alexandria-with-heart-shaped-cakes/
There is a prayer at the bottom of this post from 2007:

Many congratulations to them! How exciting!! I look forward to your creative approach to Catholic wedding planning :-)
Such wonderful news!!! Congrats and prayers. 🙂
How exciting!! Just expect the wedding to consume your life in the months prior, lol. Many blessings for the beautiful couple!
