St. Patrick’s Day Parade

by | Mar 17, 2019 | Irish Dancing, Parade, St. Patrick's Day | 11 comments

When our girls were little they had the opportunity to take nine Irish Dance lessons one spring leading up to our parish’s St. Patrick’s Day Celebration. The girls have always wished to continue learning to Irish Dance, but there just weren’t any options near our old home. When we moved to Idaho last fall they were so excited to be able to join the classes here which are taught by a fellow parishioner out of her home. This weekend they got to dance their way through downtown Coeur d’Alene in this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade! Meanwhile the rest of our family enjoyed watching the parade with friends.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

What a wonderful opportunity! So glad your girls have the chance to continue their dancing. I love listening to the music and watching Irish dancing-guess there's some Irish in me somewhere!

We are neighbors! I hope to some day meet you in real life in some Catholic circle around here. We go to a different parish, but we are heavily involved in the local homeschool co-op.

Thank you so much for your always lovely posts! I started following you when we lived in Maryland years ago, while my husband was in graduate school in Catholic U. Almost five years ago we moved to Idaho, where my husband got a job and still continues to write the dissertation ( almost done.) Now you moved here! It is so fun to see you all in pictures from God’s country!

Such a special family outing! Your beautiful daughters are lovely in their dance dresses. Such beautiful Celtic knot-work accenting the dresses…most especially the Trinity Knot. So happy for them to be able to be in an Irish Dance class. The weather looked beautiful for your family to enjoy watching them dance in the St. Patrick's Day parade. I married into an Irish family and it has been a true joy to learn about the Irish customs and culture.

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
