Here are a few of the highlights from our Little Flowers Girls’ Club Meeting for the Wreath II virtue of Loyalty and St. Lucy:

~ Meeting and Notebook Pages ~
Amy gave the talk on Loyalty for this meeting and read a story about St. Lucy from the lovely book
Around the Year Once Upon a Time Saints by Ethel Pochocki.
The notebook page for St. Lucy was my favorite from this past year. It was simple, but I just loved the image of St. Lucy and thought the page turned out so pretty. We started with red and white cardstock. I then found a poppy flower border (flipping it for the right side of the page) to decorate the corners. I also typed the St. Lucy prayer so that, when it was cut out by the girls, it would be heart shaped. The document I made can be downloaded here.
Here is my sample page:

Since the flower for this meeting was a Poppy, I ordered the Memorial Poppies with Poem from Oriental Trading and replaced the poem with the memory verse.
Had this meeting taken place in November or December I would have loved to make
Santa Lucia Crowns with the girls
again. Maybe next time!

Saint Lucy teach us loyalty.
Saint Therese, the Little Flower, pray for us!
Prayer of Mothers
Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.
Jessica, your blog is a treasure trove of inspiration. I recently ordered the leadership manual and member's guide and promotional dvd on LFGC to present to my pastor, and soon will be heading up a LF group at my parish. Your LF meetings are so wonderful ! and I do love your kitchen counters!
Lovely, Jessica. 🙂
Thanks for not posting about my EPIC fail in the Lucia bread department… oh wait, maybe I just did, lol.
Thank you Gardenia and Kelly!
And, Amy, your so funny!! The Santa Lucia bread you made looked AMAZING!! 😉

Jessica,
Thank You for sharing your Lf ideas. The notebook pages are beautiful.Do You use these instead of the LF member books or along with them? I am leading my first LF group this year and I am trying to find ways to make it very special for the girls.
I use the notebook pages in addition to the Member's Guides for each wreath. After each meeting the girls slip their new notebook page into a protective sleeve in their binder, and it is such a nice keepsake for the girls.
