Yesterday was such a busy day that I just didn’t have time to post my daybook, so I am going to post it today!
Outside my Window… the snow is just about melted, just in time for the next snow storm that is coming in tonight! The forecast is showing a 90% chance of snow for Christmas day, so it looks like we are going to have a White Christmas this year!!
I am thinking… about all our friends and family! I just love hearing from you all, and recieveing your Christmas Cards, Letters and Photos in the mail (or email!).
From the school room… We have the next couple weeks “off.” Nevertheless, our Jesse Tree is filling up, we are celebrating the O Antiphons (even though I haven’t had time to post about them the last couple days), we are still reading lots of pictures books, baking lots of cookies, and the boys are checking off all sorts of good deeds in their Advent Lapbooks, which are almost complete.
I am thankful… that one of our Godsons was able to recieve his First Communion this past Sunday, just in time for Christmas!!
From the kitchen… lots and lots of Christmas Cookies and treats. I am also planning on making another batch of Hot Cocoa for Christmas, since I am drinking our last cup of St. Nicholas Cocoa right now. I am also going to put together a jar of Starlight Cookie Mix to make with my children tomorrow. OOOohhhhh!! And my sister *just* called and she is coming over to join me in the kitchen. She’s bringing the ingredients to bake some lemon bars too! Yum!
I am creating… ugh…. I am still working on finishing the Wooden Saints for the girls, and I’m taking FOR.EV.ER!! I have been having a very hard time being creative this past month. I think I have 10 more that I am hoping to finish today. Maybe I can get my sister to help me with that while she is here! =)
I am going… to stay home ALL day today! (At least, I hope so!)
I am wearing… a knee length jean skirt, tan turtleneck sweater, brown tights, and my new brown boots, which I LOVE!!!
I am reading…my newest issue of Faith and Family which arrived this past week!
I am hoping… that a few gifts I ordered from Amazon arrive on time! :S
I am hearing… Josh Groban (my favorite Christmas CD), the girls playing back in their room with their dolls, and the boys playing hockey outside with their dad.
Around the house… I have a few more loads of laundry to catch up and Christmas Clothes to iron. I had my vaccuum fixed yesterday, so finally my carpets are clean! YAY!!
One of my favorite things… The Chocolate Coconut Balls that I made on Saturday. They are heavenly! I am pretty sure that these are going to end up being a new tradition around here. Thank you Sarah!
Let’s see, first lots of baking and cleaning today. We will probably be headed to a friend’s Christmas Eve Party tomorrow night. Christmas morning we will get up early and head to Mass. (Midnight Mass has been too hard the past couple years — hopefully we can try it again when the children are a bit older.) After Mass we will head home for a Christmas brunch and let the children open their gifts. And sometime after that we will get together with my family, though we haven’t finalizd those plans yet. I am hoping they will come HERE! We’ll see!
A picture thought I am sharing:
It’s hard to see since I was taking this photo from outside, and through the glass, but I was trying to capture Snuggles expression when he saw the snow for the first time this past week. It was so cute!

wow, those boots look warm.
was my ecard tacky?!?
r
They ARE warm, and they are SO comfortable!! (And no, not at all tacky! I loved your card!)
from the way you describe yourself, you’re pretty hip!
(the what you are wearing part)
I have to be honest, I didn’t like these “daybook” posts when they first started, but I have really grown to love them. They really cover a lot in one post. Thank you for always doing it for us! 🙂
I’m sure I’ll be back, but just in case, God Bless and Merry Christmas!
You crack me up Jamie!! I am not “hip” at all! Now my sisters, on the other hand… lol!! Oh, and I guess I forgot to mention–or rather, I am trying not to think about it–that my jean skirt is maternity… It is cute, modest, and it FITS! Hopefully I will start fitting into more of my regular clothing soon. I can’t believe it will be a month tomorrow since I miscarried… Time is flying… It’s time for me to stop baking so many treats, and start exercising!!
Next week!!! 😉
Love the cookies… I really enjoin your blog. Such a beautiful family… Josh is one of my favorite singers! I don’t have his Christmas one yet! Ever heard of
3rd Day? have a great christmas one!
Merry Christmas!
OH! I agree!! I love being able to blog about so many little things in my daybook posts. (Things that I had hoped to blog about, and never had the opportunity.) I always wonder if anyone finds them at all interesting, but I like that I can look back and remember what I was up to for any given week!
Cecilia ~ I don’t think so! I will have to look into it. We bought the Josh Groban Noel CD last year, and love it just as much this year. It is so timeless and beautiful! This year I ordered Amy Grant’s new Christmas Album too, but it still HASN’T ARRIVED!!! I am so disappointed, since it sounded like it would be fun music to have on while we were baking… Oh well. Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow! 🙂
Merry Christmas to you, Jessica. And to your beautiful family.
Those boots are so cool! And NOT in my size…. sigh.
I bought mine (in an 8 1/2) at Famous Footwear at our mall Amy. However, when I went to link them they didn’t have them available any more. In fact, a couple days ago I called to see if they still had my size in Black since I’ve been wearing them so much, but they had sold out of these boots altogether. 🙁
Thanks for sharing your Daybook. I enjoy peeking at a few of them on Mondays and seeing what other moms are up to. It’s interesting, kind of like catching up with friends without the phone! That picture of Snuggles is adorable!
I’m so glad that you loved my coconut ball recipe! We are just about to the end of the batch we made, and I’m tempted to make another to last us through the beginning of the new year! 🙂
I hope that you have a lovely, white Christmas with your beautiful family!
Best,
Sarah
