The Lookout Tower

by | Oct 24, 2007 | Lincoln Logs | 2 comments

The other day, Grandma left a comment in regards to the Lincoln Log Village that her oldest grandson wanted her to see. In it she said, “I guess you can watch for forest fires from that lookout tower.” Well… Daddy and the boys decided to build a real lookout tower. Here is the result:

The creativity never ends!

Oh, my, I missed a day or two
And I’m astonished at all you did do

    Forest Fire Towers
    And for mommy, there’s flowers

And then there is the lap top Book
So much to see, don’t know where to look

    There’s the Captain, The Rascal
    And sweet “twinkle toes”
And little Chiquita, how fast she grows.

    And little “Peanut Butter”
    That grows like no other.

Your blog is a pleasure for eyes to behold.
I envy your talent, if I may be so bold.

So I now take my leave to check it out once more.
To see what else the grankids have in store

    Love, Grandma

Wow that’s a great lookout tower. It reminds me of one at a ranger station site that we used to hike when the kids were younger (or should I say “young”) and I was younger.

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
