Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day! The kids have been counting down the days since they noticed it coming up on our Lenten Calendar… It is going to be a fun day! Rascal’s godmother is hosting a party for
more than thirty kids a few families at her home! After the party we will be picking up a couple heart shape pizza’s for dinner at home. My kids are so excited!!!
Last week I
took the easy way out let the kids pick out boxes of Valentine cards to give to their friends. So, today they worked on signing them.
The kids will be decorating cupcakes at the party tomorrow… But we decided to make some extras (tonight) to give as gifts, to a few neighbors and elderly homebound friends, on our way to the party. So, after dinner and baths, I surprised the kids with a couple more “Chef hats & aprons” from Pampered Chef (they are currently on clearance) and we set to work.
Captain, recently studied recipe measurements in his Saxon math, so I asked him and Rascal to get out the rest of the ingredients, and figure out how much of each was needed.
Also, I didn’t get completely out of making Valentine cards this year… We decided to make one for Jesus and a few to go along with these cupcakes. We used the idea provided in A Year With God. It is such a great way to use the pictures off of those beautiful Christmas cards we were given!
We still need to write on them, but here are a few pictures of the first one:
I hope you all have a very happy Valentine’s Day, and that you are surrounded by loved ones!
