Healthy Families: Safe Children – On Parenting

by | Apr 6, 2009 | Home Videos, Videos | 9 comments

I thought I would post a few more clips from the Heathy Families: Safe Children video series.  The content is excellent, though I am a little bit partial to a few of the video clips. 😉

In this clip the Healthy Families panel talks about supervision and discipline of children:

I can’t believe how little Snuggles is in this video! And don’t you just love how Twinkle Toes just tosses her shoes when she takes them off?!

The Healthy Families panel talks about the ideal parenting style for children known as “authoritative parenting”:

Isn’t it cute when Twinkle Toes runs up to hubby complaining about something (or possibly someone!)? If only I would have known that Marc would be coming over to film that day, my home (and specifically kitchen) would have been *much* cleaner!  lol!

The Healthy Families panel explains how to teach children self control and moral behavior:

The Healthy Families panel talks about the development of the brain through healthy relationships:

I love some of the clips in this video, especially the one of Twinkle Toes hugging Chiquita!Awwwww!! I also love the photo of my niece hugging Twinkle Toes… So cute!

Thank you once again, Jessica, especially for letting your family be filmed, so that others may learn.

It was an honor for us to be able to help in that little way, and to be included in such a wonderful program! There is so much great advice and guidance provided which we (hubby and I) are learning from and trying to implement in our home.

The thanks goes to Bishop Vasa and his wonderful panel, and to our friend Marc who did an amazing gob on the video!

Wow! Cute, sweet kids! I agree–those videos had some good information. Maybe I’ll try to implement a little more during/instead of my grouchy times. 🙂 Healthy family here we come!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
