Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.
Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.

The LORICA, or the Breastplate of Saint Patrick is being sent your way with birthday blessings and blessings through the year. You probably know one of its verses (the one that begins “Christ with me”), but the entire prayer is much longer and incorporates all the elements of Catholic morning prayer.
It is an Act of Faith (expressing the Catholic teaching on the Trinity and on Christ); an Act of Hope (in God’s protection throughout the day and throughout life, as well as in eternal salvation); and an Act of Charity (in the love expressed for God).
With its invocation of the Trinity and Christ to protect us against spiritual forces that desire our destruction, the Breastplate of Saint Patrick makes an ideal prayer for Lent.
how awesome is that to be born on St. P’s feast day!! Happy birthday to bil and fil!! they’re in good company 😉
I’ve been to the 4P’s in VA! It might not be the same one, though. The one I went to was in Falls Church.
Happy birthday to them both!
Sorry this is late but I did want you to also say sorry to hear about your dear Grand-dad. What a blessed man. 13 children!!!
The 4 Provinces in Falls Church, VA! Is your husband from there? Do you ever visit up that way?
That is a really good picture of your hubby!
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!!!
Fun ~ I am familiar with the Breastplate of St. Patrick, it is a beautiful prayer! THANK YOU!!
Shelly ~ I AGREE!! What a wonderful day to be born! My hubby actually missed it by a week… His birthday is 7 days after his dad and brother. It is a busy month for birthdays! (Especially since I also have 4 siblings with birthdays this month!! YIKES!!)
To those of you that asked about the 4Ps, Yes, it was the one in Falls Church. We were there in 2000 for my sister-in-laws wedding. Unfortunately we live quite a distance from VA, and have not been back since, though I keep hoping we will! =)
Amy ~ I think so too! ♥
