Small Successes :: November 11, 2010

“It’s important for moms to recognize that all the small successes in our days can add up to one big triumph. So on Thursday of each week, we do exactly that.”

~ 1 ~
I was able to help my mom clean part of her attic this past Saturday!  It was nice to spend some time with her, and to be able to help my parents out for a change, especially after all they did to help us with our remodel this past summer!

There is something about helping to organize someone else’s home that really inspires me to come home and organize my own…   I came home and cleaned and redecorated (aka: moved all the furniture around for the 10th time) the nursery.   Hubby and I were both amazed at the difference, and little Rose has been enjoying her “new” bedroom so much!

I survived yesterday!  Doctors Appointments, Dentist Appointments (including two fillings for myself), new tires on the van, and a few other errands – ALL with six children in tow.   Does that qualify as a “small” success? I’m not quite sure!  😉  Oh!!  And we were even able to stop and take a few pictures of all the bears in town… More about that another time!

Happy Martinmas Day!!

    Funny coincidence… I went to the dentist yesterday and came out with a bad bill of health. TWO fillings in store for me. How about that? Guess we need to change our brand of toothpaste, what do you say?

    Organizing or watching organizing shows gets me into the "cleaning mode" too! I'd say that is a big success toting all the kids around with you on errand day!

    #3 is NOT a small accomplishment at all 🙂

    The nursery looks great. I'm always afraid to experiment with rearranging the furniture. I suppose I should try it once in a while.

    I think #3 qualifies as a huge success. You did in a day what I would spread out over the course of a week.

    Have a great week!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
