This evening we had our sixth Good Shepherd’s Garden Party! I can hardly believe that the Easter Season has gone by so quickly, and next week we will be celebrating Pentecost!
I am going to try and put this post together quickly, since we rented a family movie
to watch followed by another
movie for just Hubby and I. I love movie nights!!
I think that this is the first week this year that I actually stuck with the menu for the Garden Party, without making any modifications! However, I did add a main dish to go along with all the goodies. Here are a few pictures from this week’s Garden Party:
~ The City Gates ~
Pretzel and Cheese Construction Kits to build Gates
~ The Temple ~
~ The Thrones ~
Edible Thrones
I happened to have some Rolos, so I used them for the legs on our thrones this year. Super easy!
~ The Bride and The Groom ~
Bride and Groom Strawberries
~ The Crown ~
~ Hallelujah! ~
“Hallelujah!” I did make something healthy to go along with this Garden Party!
I’ve been wanting to make Charlotte’s Jicama Chicken, ever since she
posted a link to
the recipe earlier this week. It was so worth the effort! At her suggestion I did add carrots to the recipe, and I also used yellow bell pepper instead of red, since that was what I had in the fridge. Everyone loved it!
I hope you enjoy this last week of the Easter season!
Prayer of Mothers
Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.
I'm so glad you liked the Jicama Chicken. My kids don't like Chinese food at all but they love Jicama Chicken! The rolo's for the legs were pure genius!
Yum! I'm going to have to try that Jicama Chicken. I don't think I've ever had jicama before. But all of the ingredients sound really good.
Love the rolos for the legs! I was just giving a test run try on assembling a throne and it stayed up for a minute before falling over. I'm so glad I caught your post. Now I can just use the Mini Reese's cups I just picked up from the store. I bought them for my husband, but he can do with a few less I think. 😉
That crown cake looks delicious! Lovely work and party:)
