The Last Supper :: Another 1,000 Piece Challenge!

by | Apr 6, 2011 | Lent, Puzzles | 10 comments

Last Advent we enjoyed putting together the Our Lady of Guadalupe Puzzle so much that we decided to work on another one this Lent.   We choose this beautiful Last Supper Puzzle also made by SunsOut. Once again we opted for the 1,000 piece puzzle, even though there are 500 Piece and 2000 Piece options.  It’s been perfect!  Very challenging, but not at all impossible, and quite a bit easier than the last one.  Our four oldest children are really enjoying working on it each day while we listen to chapters from the Truth and Life Dramatized Audio Bible New Testament, and pretty much whenever they have a few extra minutes!

At this rate, I don’t think they will have any problem finishing by Easter!

Very fun! Love the family puzzles!!

BTW, what have you found to be the best (and easiest!) way to attach Little Flowers badges? A couple moms are using "Patch Attach," but I guess they have had some problems … I haven't done any attaching, yet, so I thought I'd ask you, since you've had to attach so many already 😉 Thanks, Jessica!

We love to put puzzles together.:) I like how you have a separate table set up so they can work on it. They'll be through before you know it.;) I also saw Sarah's question regarding the LF patches. I bet Heat & Bond Lite would work. Although, I would still stitch them to secure the ends with a tiny machine straight-stitch.

Sarah ~ I haven't found an easy way yet, and would love to hear what you end up doing! I actually have a TON that need to be attached. I had been sewing them on by hand with matching embroidery thread. Right now quite a few of the petals are just attached with safety pins, until I get back around to sewing them on. . .

    Jessica and Sarah,

I have no idea if it would work for Little Flowers Patches {we are just starting in the fall} but for my daughter's Girl Scout uniform we use Badge Magic. It comes in a sheet and is removable by dry cleaning if you need to change uniform sizes. VERY easy to put on and quick – I can do an entire uniform in 30 minutes, and 10 of that is in the dryer!

how do you keep your younger ones from messing the puzzles up? I love puzzles as do my boys, so love this idea…but worry about littler ones…

They have all been really good about not bothering the puzzles, except when I was at the hospital this past December, delivering our last… That was when we lost our first puzzle piece, which still hasn't been found! 🙂

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
