Red, White and Boom!

I hope you all had a fun filled Fourth of July weekend!  Our weekend was a blast, filled with a lots of great friends, delicious food, and ending with a fireworks show late last night.  

Chiquita decorated a cake to take to the BBQ we attended on the Fourth, which was hosted by some friends who just arrived back in town!  My boys are so excited to have their dear friend (who loves Strategy Games and “War” as much, if not more than they do!) back for the summer.    

      

We have company coming over tomorrow for some more Saintly Summer Fun and I need to go and finish getting ready… But, before I go, here is one of the highlights from the birthday BBQ we attended on Sunday for another friend.   The kids absolutely LOVED this little hands on off science lesson given by Rascal’s Godfather:

    Oh my goodness! Chiquita is looking more and more grown up lately. I almost thought she was her sister in that picture of her decorating the cake. Looks like you had fun! Get some rest today!

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.
