Two Weeks and Two Days…

by | Jan 5, 2012 | Precious Moments: 07, Thank You | 15 comments

Our little Bud spent a few moments this afternoon on one of his new super cute Quilties, made by his soon-to-be Texan Godmother, following his two week check-up.  Isn’t it darling?!

And, of course, Snuggles immediately joined him and thinks the “Cowboy” Quiltie is so neat!  Snuggles just can’t get enough of his new little brother, even though “he sure loves his mommy the best!”

Bud is doing well and weighed just one ounce less than his birthweight at 7 pounds 4 oz!   Considering that he nurses pretty much hourly, except for 1 or 2 two hour stretches, both day and night, I’m sure he will be there in no time!

Goodnight, God Bless!

Snuggles couldn't be happier to have a little brother! He is constantly comparing fingers and toes, and asked the other day how much longer before the baby will be able to play hockey with him! 🙂 Yes, I think they will be the best of friends too!

As for me… I am doing okay, just very, very tired. Thankfully my husband is still off for this one last week. Next week will probably be very challenging with him going back to work and the baptism taking place (and possibly First Communions as well) on Friday. Please keep us in your prayers! 🙂

Cute, cute quilty!! One of my favorite gifts when we had "George" was a quilt made by Barbara @ Praying for Grace. I love it because it's darling, yes, but especially because it is like wrapping him up in a little IRL love. I was so touched that she would take the time to do that and aspire to do the same for another new mommy one day.

(Charlotte even showed me how when I was there!)

In any case, I'm not quite there yet…but I have this as a goal for the new year. Make more; give more. 🙂

    Oh, oh, oh! So cute!

And, I agree, take care of yourself.
Let your older ones help in the ways they can, especially when your husband returns to work.

    Oh Jessica,

How sweet and precious is the love between Snuggles and Bud! I absolutely love seeing the great pix of your lovely family. Blessings to you all in the New Year, make sure that you get enough rest when hubby has to go back to work. Make a game with the older kiddos to fetch and carry and keep the clutter at bay! School from the couch sounds like a great idea!

Thank you all for your sweet comments! Yes, school from the couch is one thing that I can do right now, and we've actually been catching up on quite a bit of History reading, now that I can breathe again! 😉

Margaret ~ Barbara made me a darling little quilt for Rose and it is lovely! I guess I need to take another trip to TX so Charlotte ca teach me how to make these QUilties too!! 🙂

Prayer of Mothers

Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me

Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.
