Yesterday I received an email from my dear mother-in-law asking us to keep my husband’s oldest brother in our prayers and wanted to ask you all to do the same. As she said in her email, “”The truth will set you free” and it will also get you in trouble. Courage in the face of a Godless nation. Prayer for Priests
Most gracious Heavenly Father, We thank you for our faithful priests and bishops, whose spiritual fatherhood and example of fidelity, self-sacrifice, and devotion is so vital to the faith of your people.
May our spiritual fathers be guided by the examples of Saints Peter and Paul, all the Apostles and their saintly successors. Give them valiant faith in the face of confusion and conflict, hope in time of trouble and sorrow, and steadfast love for you, for their families, and for all your people throughout the world. May the light of your Truth shine through their lives and their good works.
Assist all spiritual fathers, that through your Grace they may steadily grow in holiness and in knowledge and understanding of your Truth. May they generously impart this knowledge to those who rely on them. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Prayer for Priests to St. Joseph
O illustrious patriarch St. Joseph, who carried the Infant Jesus in thy blessed arms and who, during the space of thirty years, lived in the most intimate familiarity with Him, take under thy powerful protection those whom He has clothed with His authority and honored with with the dignity of His priesthood, whom He has charged to continue His mission, to preach His Gospel, and to dispense everywhere His graces and blessings. Sustain them in their fatigues and labors; console them in their pains; fortify them in their combats; but above all, keep far from them all the evils of sin.
Obtain for them the humility of St. John the Baptist, the faith of St. Peter, the zeal and charity of St. Paul, the purity of St. John and the spirit of prayer and recollection of which thou, my dear Saint, art the model, so that, after having been on earth, the faithful dispensers of the Mysteries of thy foster Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, they may in Heaven receive the recompense promised to pastors according to the Heart of God. Amen.
St. Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church, Pray for Us!
We have the honor of attending his Masses here in Kansas. He is a good and holy priest and we will continue to pray for him and all priests that they may stay strong in the midst of attack. Things are going to get worse before they get better.
When I read this @ Fr. Z's this morning, I wondered if the Father Gordon mentioned was your brother in law! 🙂 He and all your family will be in my prayers.

Please know that your brother-in-law will be in my prayers, as will all FSSP priests. They are such a blessing to Catholics because of their willingness and courage to speak the Truth, and the care that they show for souls. May God continue to bless the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter and all of its priests and seminarians!
Good for him!! I always get so frustrated when people try to pass off abortion as being a "political issue." It is far from being political – it's a life issue, and a morality issue! Praying for an end to abortion is only seen as political by those who have twisted it into being some sort of legal right. God bless your brother-in-law and all faithful priests!

Well, I love him and I don't even know your brother in law.Thank You for this, Jessica!! I get so discouraged sometimes…especially lately. There are brave and faithful priests out there even if none of them are around or in our local parishes. We will pray for Fr. Gordon and also offer a prayer of thanksgiving that the FSSP is producing these excellent priests.
Priests like this make me proud to be Catholic. Forgive me for my lack of humbleness when it comes to this!

I read that yesterday. Good for him! We are so tired of priests who soft-pedal the faith and monkey around with the Mass that we're "this close" to switching and making the hour-long drive to the FSSP parish down here. It just seems like it would be hard to participate in parish life from such a distance. I'd appreciate your prayers in that regard!
What an awesome and brave priest is your brother-in-law! You all must be very proud. I'm showing this to my 2 sons. God Bless him and all our priests.
