On Christmas Eve some of my family came over for dinner after they attended Mass. (We always attend either the Midnight or Christmas Day Mass.) Here are some pictures I managed to take throughout the evening!

I made homemade Cream of Broccoli and Beefed Up Barley Soups, Mom provided the meats and cheeses, and my Aunt Bridget made amazing deviled eggs. I also picked up a veggie platter, chips and salsa, cookies, and baked a chocolate Cathedral Cake. It was a simple meal but still delicious!

Jessica, seeing all the building you all do — with Legos, graham crackers, etc., I have to share a documentary we just watched. It's called Building the Great Cathedrals. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/ancient/building-gothic-cathedrals.html Fabulous exploration of medieval architecture and engineering, and some great Catholic history too! I majored in art history, and studied a lot of Gothic architecture, so knew the basics of flying buttresses, etc., but we still learned a lot.

Isn't it cute – the Hobbit Hole and the sweater! 🙂 I thought the gumdrop Ent throwing boulders at the Tower of Orthanc was pretty creative too! lol
We watched that too on Christmas evening! I've got it bookmarked to watch again with the children.
Looks like such a wonderful Christmas! The girls sweater dresses are darling too! The gumdrop Ent is my favorite!
Love that cathedral cake! And Rose's hair is adorable!! And then with that hat and dress…absolutely precious. I love seeing posts from your family get-togethers. They just look so fun. 🙂 lol. Loving the idea of putting candy in cupcake tins too. God bless:)
