O my God, I know too well that whatever I may do for the education of my children will remain fruitless without the blessing of Thy grace. “Unless our Lord build the house,” says the psalmist, “they have labored in vain that build it. Unless our Lord keep the city, he watcheth in vain that keepeth it.” (Ps. 126.) I pray to Thee, therefore, O Lord, to give success to what I do for my children. Grant that they may remain preserved from all evil of body and soul; help me build so that the edifice of virtue and perfection may have in them a firm, solid foundation and rise higher and higher; graciously accompany all my words and actions with Thy grace, so that whatever I say and do may tend to their true welfare.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

“The goal of all our undertakings should be not so much a task perfectly completed as the accomplishment of the will of God.”
St. Therese of Lisieux
Prayer of Mothers
Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.
lovely start to a new school year. AD JESMUM PER MARIAM
Everything good in school. Beautiful photos. Slávka
I always love reading about your back to school traditions – and seeing the photos too. You won't be able to have them sit at the fireplace next year, possibly even by Easter everyone is growing!
I can't believe your girls are in sweater dresses! We were 100 degrees yesterday!
Our temps have been all over the place lately, and it did get up into the 90s yesterday, but on Tuesday morning it was cool and overcast. By lunch it started warming up and the boys had already changed into their shorts. Looking at the forecast for the next week we have lows in the 30s to 50s and highs in the 60s to 90s… Fall has definitely arrived!
Plus the girls were very excited to wear their new "back-to-school" dresses. I had purchased them in the spring on clearance in sizes for this fall and winter and had just given them to them. 🙂
That thought went through my mind when I was taking the picture… They barely fit this time! 🙂
Thanks for sharing. They are just beautiful, every one of them! God bless your school year! – Genevieve
Lovely! May I ask where you purchased those cute sweater dresses?
Having just had my first girl 3 weeks ago…well…I am clueless.
So sweet! I found the pink crayons locally but I had no idea about the princess ones! I know what St. Nicholas will be bringing my 5-year old this year!!
Beautiful kids! I just love eye color and all the browns and blues!
God Bless your school year!
I picked up the box of Pink Princess Crayons at Target. 🙂
Most of my girls' dresses, including these, are from Gymboree. I always shop their sales and clearance racks using additional promotions and coupons to make the clothes affordable. (I paid less than $10 for each of the dresses the girls are wearing in these pictures during the Winter Clearance.) I love the quality of their clothing and that they last through multiple children (I do also hang dry all my girls dresses to preserve the color.) Hope that helps! Congratulations on your new baby girl!!
Hehe. I just looked back at the picture and noticed that the girls are in winter clothes and the boys are in shorts!
And if you look a little closer at the one with the kids on the front porch, you'll notice the big boys on their tip toes too! 🙂 lol
Jessica, when I saw the pink crayons, I immediately thought of your "rose." I had intentions of sending some to her but you know what they say about the best laid plans. Glad she got some for her pink-uh coloring pages. 🙂
Have a great school year. Next year, I'm going to try the schuletutes. We usually just do tiny gift bags.
Great photos, as always, I like particulary the surprised look of Rose and Rascal. Have fun in the new school year!
I love how the girls look so warmly dressed and the boys are in shorts! Hysterical. Adorable kids and great dressers as usual
Hi, Jessica! The Solo Portraits of your Children looks great!
I just want to ask what lens did you use on your camera to take these?
The bokeh in the background really looks nice. 🙂

I'm so impressed that you noticed a difference! You know, I actually did pull out my Canon 50mm lens for some of these pictures! I need to start practicing/learning how to use it… It is such an awesome lens!
