U.S. Elections Lap Book
This month we have been learning about U.S. Elections and we are working on the final details of our U.S. Elections Lap Books today as we wait for the polls to close this evening…
Four years ago we completed these Presidential Election Lap Books and Unit Study and this year we used the excellent U.S. Elections Lap-Pak from Homeschool in the Woods, as I mentioned in our 2016-2017 Curriculum Plans last month. We’ve all learned so much and have had a great time creating all the mini-books.
In addition to the resources provided in the Lap-Pak, we’ve added in some books, videos, and this Pro-Life Citizenship Unit Study (for the teens) as well.
We still have a few things to finish… The kids are each writing their personal policies (social, economic, and foreign) and working on coming up with their own campaign ads and slogans.

They also want to add the election prayer/novena we have been praying to the back of their Lap Books as well:
How do you spell 'IMPRESSIVE'?! Your children are more knowledgeable than this adult about the Presidential election process! I am so impressed. Those lap books look fantastic and are chock full of information I need to study! lol! Your children are EDUCATED! And best of all, their education is completely unified with their vibrant faith. I just love how Christ and His blessed Mother are the alpha and omega of all your studies!

You are going to laugh.
Between injuries & huge house issues, I couldn't get it together to do any of the election process studies I had wanted too with the kids. But, things are slowing down now. So this morning I tell the kids, "Hey guys, we are going to spend a few weeks studying the process our country goes through in electing our representatives in government….." My 12 year old says to me, "Uh Mom, the elections are over, can we just move forward from this."
We are still going to the unit study, we have the white house to build and everything. LOL
