On the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes
Last year our girls each received a Marian Grotto Kit in their Easter Baskets
! I believe I ordered the kits from Catholic Child
. You can also find them over at Sacred Heart Books and Gifts
. The older girls assembled their grottos last May (for the feast of Our Lady of Fatima – the Our Lady of Fatima Grotto kit is perfect for this year’s 100th anniversary!)
but Rose saved hers for the February 11th feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. After enjoying French Crêpes and Cocoa for brunch she started creating her miniature grotto!
Note: The older girls used regular glue and many of their gems eventually fell off and had to be regaled on. It also took forever to dry in between steps. To save some time I helped Rose glue the project together with the hot glue gun. I added the glue and she placed the popsicle sticks and gems. It turned out lovely!
O Lady of Bernadette, with the stars of heaven in your hair and the roses of earth at your feet, look with compassion upon us today as you did so long ago on Bernadette in the Grotto of Lourdes.
Happy Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes!
Prayer of Mothers
Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.
