I’ve been meaning to share these pictures from All Hallows’ Eve here on the blog and finally had a few moments to finish up the post. I took them just before our guests arrived for our All Hallows’ Eve/All Saints Party. It was such a fun evening and thankfully the weather (mostly) cooperated!
.: Our Lady of Knock :.
In Ireland Our Lady dressed
in shades of white and green,
to show that she would always be
the Emerald Isle’s Queen…
.: Our Lady of Fatima :.
In Fatima Our Lady stood
upon a holly tree.
She dressed in white
like crystal light
and held a rosary…
White dress, gold cord for a belt, round table cloth for a veil, her confirmation rosary, a cord with a gold ball (made from wrapping a little ball with gold chenille pipe cleaners), and a homemade crown. I’m still amazed she made her crown out of cardboard and glue!
“The Lady was holding rosary beads, which were as brilliant as stars—the crucifix seeming to give off the most radiant light of all.”
“A cord with a little ball of light hung from her neck and towards the bottom of her tunic was a star.”
Our Lady of Fatima with Sister Lucia and Saints Jacinta & Francisco
.: St. Francisco Marto :.
He originally had a different saint in mind, but was talked into St. Francisco Martin by his sister and two of their friends! He carved a sheep this year to go along with his simple costume and went down to the river to find a stick/shepherd staff.
.: Our Lady Queen of the Angels :.
She stands there shining like the sun,
in robes of blue and red;
a crown of twelve bright sparkling stars
she wears upon her head…
Her sweet friend dressed as a beautiful angel for our party! ♥
.: St. Augustine :.
His dad helped him make a crozier out of an old pole and some paint and I ordered him a mitre!
The rest he rounded up from the costume bins.

.: St. Elizabeth Ann Seton :.
This St. Elizabeth Ann Seton costume was actually made by my mother-in-law back in 2006 for our oldest daughter when she was 3 years old. She made them all their costumes that year!!
My mother-in-law passed away two weeks after our youngest was born in 2019…
It was so special to see her wearing that sweet hand-me-down costume this year! ♥

All Saints in Heaven, pray for us!
My goodness, what beautiful children, and what beautiful saints. May I ask a question, perhaps it will inspire a post — how have you kept your children close to the Church into their teenage and young adult years? Your girls dress so feminine and beautiful and appear so devout, and your sons seem so strong and confident in their faith. How have you managed to achieve this?
