In their book The Word Within: The Ark of the Covenant and Mary, Maura McKeegan and Scott Hahn once again poignantly deliver God’s message of hope for the world.
We are thoughtfully reminded that, just as in Old Testament times, when God placed the Ark with the Word of God within it, as a centerpiece of His promise to His believers; God today likewise wants us to remember that He is still in our midst, first in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary and now upon our altars as a promise of mercy and hope.
Children will once again find a memorable lesson, both in the appropriate text for children and the corresponding illustrations, that God’s Promise is still in their midst.
Note: This review was written by Sean. He and I have reviewed a number of the other books in this series over the year. It’s one of my absolute favorites between the biblical typology and the beautiful illustrations. I was very excited to hear the latest addition to the series had just been published! I also included a few additional pictures from this book in this year’s Christmas Books for the Feast of St. Nicholas.
