Advent begins at the end of next month and it’s time to order Advent Candles for your Advent Wreath!
- Tumbler Jar Candles – The Cloister Shoppe makes amazing Jar Candles. In the past I’ve ordered extras of the Three Wisemen Candle (perfect for Epiphany!) to give as gifts.
- Bayberry Christmas Eve Candles – I’m ordering replacement candles this year so that I can bring myself to actually light the candles, instead of just using it as a decoration.
- Christmas Tree Creche Candle – I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to actually burn this beautiful candle!
- Beeswax Candles – You can’t go wrong with any of these! I replace our Advent Candles with Beeswax Candles for the Christmas season.
- St. Nick’s Goat Milk Soap – I first featured this in my Seven Fun Finds for Advent back in 2014. This year they have it available in red! Love it!
- Peppermint Foot Creme – Love, love, love this stuff!
We live in NJ and are about 30 mins away from the shop so we go there all the time. Thanks for reminding me , I need to go get some more candles for our advent wreathe for this coming advent ! God bless you and your family

Hi Jessica, Thank you for this PSA 🙂 I have a few questions. You always make everything look so awesome! I love how you bring our Catholic faith into everything you do!!! I am trying to do that with my grandchildren. Can you share with me where you purchased: 1. The wooden Holy Family dolls pictured above 2. The Nativity wooden candle holder and the wooden wreath that encircles it on your table 3. And in your post on "The Doll's Christmas" that I found hitting links, where did you find the adorable Nativity set and all those precious wooden dolls and animals? I would love to set that up at our farm. Thank you so much for always bringing our faith alive! I hope your boys are well at Christendom. One of my dearest friend's father-in -law helped start that school. It is beautiful!!! God Bless you, Jessica! Kris Levy Roanoke, VA

Oh, how I love their products!! I found them thanks to you a few years ago and I'm absolutely in love with the peppermint foot cream, the face cream and the lip balm. They are amazing. I also buy the advent candles and the bayberry candles, which I began giving to a few new friends last year for the Christmas Eve burning tradition. Thanks so much for sharing about them because the products I've purchased are all wonderful!

How lovely to live so close to the shop! Do you have any other favorites to share? God bless you and your family too!

Hi Kris! Thank you for your kind words. I always love sharing pictures here on the blog and so glad others find them helpful. The boys are both doing really well at Christendom, but I am looking forward to having everyone home for all the upcoming holidays!
Ok, let's see if I can find some links for you…
1.These beautiful hand-carved wooden dolls are made in Germany by Ostheimer. I purchased them from The Wooden Wagon in the US: https://thewoodenwagon.com/woodentoys/ostheimer-n…
2. Unfortunately I can't seem to find our wreath currently online anywhere… It's the "Enesco Pillars Advent Wreath 5-piece Set" if you want to search a little more. I bought it back in 2014.
3. The wooden dolls and animals are all Ostheimer toys once again. So many have been hard to get this year due to Covid/shipping delays, but The Wooden Wagon is expecting to get a large shipment in at the end of this month. We'll see! They usually have a sale sometime around Thanksgiving each year too. The tiny nativity in that post – https://www.showerofrosesblog.com/2017/01/the-dol… – is actually from a Playmobil set. They no longer make the set we have (#4892 Christmas Room) but this is a current set that includes another tiny nativity: https://amzn.to/3mfQ7g6

So happy that you love them! I haven't tried their face cream, but love the lip balm and just ordered more of the peppermint foot cream!

Thanks so much, Jessica, for all your help! Tomorrow I am going to do a All Saints Tea/Breakfast for my granddaughters (maybe it will turn into a tradition)! I love learning about our beautiful faith and traditions and having moms, like yourself, teach and lead is a great blessing! Hope you have a joyous holiday season (it all begins this weekend!) God Bless you, Kris

Hi Jessica, I am sure you have this info on here somewhere but I can't seem to find it. What are the wooden disks you are using to count down? Thank you! Buying my candles today! Blessings Jen

dining table a few years ago in your blog. Such a special idea. For 40 years our family has used a tall wooden German Pyramid Nativity Advent Wreath that I purchased in Germany before I was married. I love setting it up each year. Our children enjoyed lighting the candles during every Advent Season and each of us read a daily devotion around this Advent Wreath at the supper table. My husband and I continue the tradition now that our three children have grown and have families of their own. Ostheimer toys are the neatest creations! The German craftsmen are so skilled with their wood carvings. Jessica your beautiful photos are making me so anxious for Advent to begin .

Thank you. I am now thinking I may have already asked this once before. I'm sorry!
