Prayer of Mothers
Father in heaven, grant me the grace to appreciate the dignity which you have conferred on me. Let me realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with such a privilege—to share in your creative miracle and bring new Saints to heaven. Make me a good mother to all my children after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the intercession of Jesus and Mary I ask your continued blessings on my family. Let us all be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen.

A Little About Me
Hi! I'm Jessica, a Roman Catholic wife and home educating mother to our nine children. I was home educated myself, along with my eleven younger siblings. I have a special devotion to St. Therese, through whom I have been given much help and many blessings--the beautiful "Shower of Roses" that she has sent my way! Here I will record a few of the blessings I treasure. Please remember that what you see here is just a little glimpse at our lives, so please say a prayer for us, as we continue to strive for holiness.

What a great camp! When your younger boys are old enough, I'll have to send my boys, too.

What a blessing!

Oh, my boys would just love that! You make me want to move to the US. And there was a camp for the girls too? The FSSP organise a camp each year in my country too, but it is as far from us as your east coast is from the west coast 🙁

Great camp pictures and all, but I'm mesmerized by that outdoor sink thing. LOL Someone is quite handy!

Do they do multiple camps in the US? We are on the east coast. My two older sons would love this!

It sounds like such a great camp. I have boys ages "almost" 14 and 9 and a daughter who is 6. Where exactly are the boys' and girls' camps located? I tried looking online, but don't think I found the correct ones. – Thank you.

I so wish our area/parish had experiences like this for my sons. We just don't have opportunities like this. Looks like a wonderful experience.

Yes, there was a camp for the girls too! Our oldest two daughters attended for the first time this year. I wish the FSSP camp in your country was closer to you!

Isn't that awesome! I believe one of the dads in the parish built it for the camp.

Yes, they do! This particular camp is put on by my BIL's parish, but there are a couple seminarian run camps as well. Camp St. Peter takes place at Custer State Park in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and Camp St. Isaac Jogues is in Pennsylvania. In addition to the two priests at the parish, three seminarians came out to help with the camps as well. I'm not sure how many of the other FSSP parishes have parish sponsored camps, but it'd be worth checking.

I totally understand! These camps are about 650+ miles from our home which makes getting our children there a bit challenging. Last year was the first year we were able to make it happen for the boys and this year we planned our summer vacation (and 3,500 mile road trip!) around getting our oldest four to the camps (and First Holy Communion for our 8 year old!). It really was a wonderful experience for them. I hope that something will come up in your area for your sons!

This camp was through my brother-in-law's parish out here in the Pacific Northwest. This year it was originally open to parishioners only until a certain date when those outside the area (including us) could apply. They are limited on the number of kids they can have and it filled up really quickly at that point! I'm sure that some of the other FSSP parishes around the country have camps as well, but I'm not sure where one would find that information… This particular camp was advertised in the parish bulletin, not online. There are a couple camps for boys run by the FSSP seminarians in South Dakota and Pennsylvania that look really great (here's the link) but our boys haven't attended those and they are a lot more expensive than the parish run camp. I hope you are able to find one for your children too! It was such a great experience for our kids!

What a great experience for your boys. Thanks for sharing. I always enjoy reading about your family of 7.
