My children have been asking for some time when Illuminated Ink would be having another coloring contest. Well, according to their July news-eLetter they are having one right now in honor of the Year for Priests!
All entries must be postmarked by Saturday, May 15, 2010 to be eligible. There will also be five different age brackets to be judged: ages 0 – 4, ages 5 – 7, ages 8 – 10, ages 11 – 18, and ages 19 and up. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will be awarded in each age bracket, and the winners will receive an Illuminated Ink Gift Certificate. (Which can be redeemed for the products of their choice… complete with free shipping!)

I am thinking of giving your summer ticket idea a try. I have a question for you, if you don't mind. When one child turns in tickets for a prize, like a 30-minute video, what about the other kids? Do they have to turn in tickets for the video, too, or do they all get to watch it anyway? With 5 kids very close in age, I am just wondering how the prizes might be redeemed fairly, having to actually earn them and not just enjoying the benefits of someone else's hard work! If you know what I mean =)
Yes, I do make the other children redeem tickets too, if they would like to watch the movie as well. Some choose to, and others do not. However, when we went to see a movie on Tuesday (which was going to be 8 tickets each) the girls only had 4 for I left it up to the boys if they wanted to loan the girls tickets which they did. They REALLY wanted to go. I have also had to find a few easier ways for my daughters to earn tickets… I've given them tasks like putting a puzzle together etc. I hope that helps!
