Crèche Mania :: Free Downloads for Creating Beautiful and Inspiring 3-D Nativity Scenes!
This amazing website is devoted to the love of paper crèches (also known as nativities, cribs, or mangers). I was totally captivated by the beautiful artwork and immediately registered so I could log in and have access to some of the FREE DOWNLOADS to create with my children!
We have been having so much fun!! Here are some of the 3-D Nativity Scenes we created this morning:
We have downloaded some of the others and will continue making these in preparation for Christmas! (My children would each like to make one for their Godparents.) I think next on our list is the Portico Nativity. At this rate, I wonder just how long my printer ink is going to hold out! 😉
Well, today has turned into a “holiday” in our home, ever since receiving the wonderful news about Rose’s heart this morning. I think I am going to go and bake a cake (Charlotte suggested heart shaped, which would be perfect!) so we can celebrate after Mass this evening!
I hope you are all having a very blessed feast of the Immaculate Conception, and let me know if you make any of these and what you think! I’d love to see pictures!!
On this Beautiful Feast of the Immaculate Conception

We were just given a wonderful Christmas gift!
The doctors office just called with the results from Rose’s echocardiogram yesterday (she did wonderfully, by the way) and her little heart is completely NORMAL!!!
Her PDA has healed and she will not need surgery after all! I was so happy and relieved that I started crying and really scared my husband when I called to tell him the good news. 🙂
God is so Good! Thank you Dear Blessed Mother and St. Therese for interceding for our family! And thank you to everyone who offered prayers for our family and particularly our little Rose! Our Dear Lord sure listens to you all! May God reward you for your kindness and prayers for our family!
Deo Gratias!!!
Bible Paper Toys :: Free Printable Paper Nativity Set
I have a dear cousin who moved to Italy many years ago and I no longer get to see very often. Thanks to Facebook, we are now able to stay in touch once again! Today she sent me a link to a great little craft that she thought I would like. I hadn’t seen this website before, so I thought I would share it with you all as well!
French illustrator and paper engineer, Didier Martin, has created 5 booklets with different figures and parts to create a paper model of the story of the birth of Jesus—the first Christmas. Each booklet contains the different figures as seen on the various covers, in addition to instruction pages with photos to guide you in the making of the model. He has graciously shared these booklets at no charge, though donations are accepted.
A Little Prayer Request for Rose
This afternoon I will be taking our little Rose in for another Echocardiogram. This echo is to confirm whether or not she still has her PDA (Patent Ductus Arteriosus), so we can begin making plans for her operation in a couple months if necessary.
If all goes as planned, and our little Rose cooperates with the echo tech, we should have the results by tomorrow evening.

Christmas Baking
Oh, how we are enjoying our new kitchen! We are getting ready to go to First Friday Mass with our Homeschool Group this morning and we just finished baking a Cherry Cheese Coffee Cake to share after Mass. (I’ll add the glaze after it cools and just before we head out the door.)
We also just finished baking a batch of Pepernoten (Dutch Peppernuts), using the recipe found in Cooking with the Saints. My girls had so much fun rolling the cooking dough into marble sized balls!
They turned out delicious and would be even better served with a cup of coffee or perhaps some “Saintly” Hot Cocoa!
San Xavier Mission
After our visit to Tumacácori Mission, we headed up the road to see another mission founded by Father Kino. This mission was founded in 1692. The construction of the current church began in 1783 and was completed in 1797. It is the oldest intact European structure in Arizona and is filled with beautiful original statues and mural paintings!
This mission was named after St. Francis Xavier whose feast day is celebrated today and, according to my Spanish mother-in-law, is in our family tree! Apparently my father-in-law always refers to him as “Uncle Frank!” ☺ I would love to do a little further research on that someday!
